Pain is your body’s way of asking for your attention. Any time you experience pain, whether in your back, your arm, or your teeth, you should take notice!
At Scott Jordan DDS, we understand that tooth pain occurs on its own schedule and often at inconvenient times. We encourage you to contact our office at the first sign of pain because it will often worsen, causing you unnecessary trauma.
Even if you experience pain after hours, we will be here for you! We will ask you a series of questions to help us get ready to treat you in our office. When you call, be prepared to tell us when the pain started, how it feels, and where it is located in your mouth. If you lost a crown or bridge and still have it, bring it to your emergency appointment with you.
We will likely take an x-ray of the area to determine the cause of your discomfort, perform an emergency exam on the troubled tooth, and give you your treatment options.
In most cases, we will work quickly to get you out of pain and complete your treatment at a later appointment. If we have time, we will treat your condition at your emergency dental visit.
Once you are comfortable again, Dr. Jordan will discuss how to proceed, what your treatment options are, and the next steps we will take. Your health and comfort are our number one priorities.
Some common dental emergencies include:
Maintaining regular dental exams and professional dental cleanings will help you avoid dental emergencies, but even the best dental patients cannot always avoid an unexpected trip to the dentist!
Contact us right away so we can help you feel comfortable again.
Awesome experience for my very nervous husband! Dr Kay and all of his staff were kind, and so understanding of my husband’s dental fears. He was very gentle and had a great bedside manner. Highly recommend Dr Kay!
